Vanessa Siltanen’s yoga journey began from a fascination of the healing and playful aspects of the practice. After a series of injuries and health concerns, she began to utilize the practice to create more space, joy and vitality in her body and life.
Initially studying Ashtanga Yoga, Vanessa later went on to train with Gaitri Yoga. She now teaches Vinyasa Flow, diving into creative progressions of postures and varying principles of alignment.
Along with yoga, Vanessa teaches piano, rhythmic gymnastics and acro dance. She loves to explore sound and music, creative movement and partner acrobatics and through these explorations, hopes to share the sweetness of discovering our own individual rhythm “on the mat”. From here, we can enjoy being witness to how the body and breath naturally flow with beauty and grace.
As yogis, we are continually taking in new knowledge about the practice, and it is our duty to investigate whether this information is suitable and beneficial for us. Vanessa encourages her students to delve into what works for them, and to develop a practice that is both healing and playful.
