I come to my mat for the same reason I moved to the mountains – the feeling of being connected to the entire universe. My practice began five years ago when I was trying to find a new form of exercise. Little did I know that those first few hours on the mat in a hot yoga studio were the start of something that was much greater than a physical practice. Over the past five years I have embraced the connecting, healing, and heart-centred transformative power of yoga. Its roots began on my mat and have branched out into every aspect of my life, becoming a part of who I am.
One of my favourite things in the world is hiking in nature. When I hike up a mountain I feel tiny, amazed and connected (and tired). When I reach the summit I am overwhelmed with gratitude and awe. On the descent I have time to reflect and be with myself and nature. This experience is reproduced whenever I come to my mat. I aim to connect my physical movements with my breath, always bringing an element of challenge, awe, appreciation, and reflection to the practice.
I completed my 200HR YTT with Erin Evans through Bija Yoga School in May 2018. I teach a strong vinyasa flow which focuses on curiosity, playfulness, and alignment. My classes combine mindfulness with creative and challenging sequencing. I look forward to seeing you on the mat!
