I began my yoga journey at the Yoga Lounge in 2008. I initially bought an introduction pass so that I could just have something physical to do for the week that I was visiting Canmore. Little did I know that this studio and the teachers would help sculpt the life I love today.
Flash forward 12 years. Yoga has become an engrained part of my life and infuses and informs my daily routine. I completed my 200 Hr YTT in Chiang Mai, 2015 to learn more about the philosophy and underpinnings of yoga as a way of life.
I recently completed my 300 Hr YTT here in Canmore, studying under Lydia Zamorano and Erin Evans.
Yoga, for me within my experience, is my tool to get into the flow state. It is where I greet my Self and learn and relearn myself as a functional human living my experience. Linking asana with breath and peeling back the layers of preconceived notions and labels is something I am constantly curious about and constantly working on. As a teacher I am informed by my studies in psychology and human behaviour and love to teach those subjects while teaching a yoga sequence.
Outside of teaching and practicing yoga, I am an educator and private tutor. I am passionate about working with kids through their educational and socio-emotional issues and supporting their growth and development as they age. I am also currently doing my masters in Counselling Psychology. When I’m not working or studying, I am outside hiking, paddling, snowboarding, spending time with my friends and/or cat, or reading.
I look forward to meeting you on your mat!
