Growing up in Canmore, Carolyn’s approach to both life and her yoga practice has been highly influenced by her respect and love for the outdoors. Her background in dance, downhill ski racing and psychology has helped develop her interest in the connection of mind, body and movement. A long time practitioner she finds yoga the perfect practice for mediating stress, strengthening the body and cultivating the mind. Originally a dedicated Ashtanga student, she has expanded her practice and teaching to include a variety of different styles. Recently completing her 500 hr YTT in the Modern Teacher Training program, she enjoys exploring ways to cultivate a sustainable practice for the modern day yogi; balanced with variety, fun and tradition.
Her classes are lively and accessible to all levels. She incorporates traditional teachings with modern knowledge of body movement and alignment. She invites her students to challenge and explore themselves both mentally and physically; and encourages curiosity and spontaneity throughout practice.
