The Charities:

Canmore is known for its active lifestyle, vibrant culture, natural beauty, and commitment to sustainable ecology. Through partnerships with land managers, recreational groups, clubs, businesses, and the community at large, the Canmore Trail Alliance  engages trail users in planning, design, construction and maintenance of trails in the Canmore area. The CTA is a program of the Friends of Kananaskis Country.

CTA maintains the trail system in Canmore, allowing us to continue to enjoy the beautiful mountains that we live in. The Canmore Trail Alliance believes that well designed, signed, maintained trails are a valuable community resource that provide health enhancing recreational benefits for area residents and other trail visitors. They run entirely on donations, which is why we think this is a meaningful cause to donate to this summer!

The Bow Valley Women’s Emergency Shelter is the only local resource dedicated to supporting women and their children who are fleeing violent situations. The Bow Valley Emergency Shelter has only one fully dedicated space to serve women in the Bow Valley. The Emergency Shelter is operated by the YWCA with support from other community agencies including Bow Valley Victim Services, Banff and Canmore Hospitals and the RCMP. Services include safety planning, referrals, counselling, access to food, clothing, and transportation and if necessary, a safe place to stay for women and their children.
